They hit their apex in 2002 when they won the national championship, and it appeared that Coach Gary Williams had the program prepared to dominate into the foreseeable future. However, something happened on the Terrapins’ way to a dynasty, and they have not even qualified for the last two NCAA Tournaments.
Even though he’s a Maryland alum, Williams understands that he’s “on the clock,” and needs to get something done with his program before time runs out. Maryland has won 19 games in each of the past two years, but it’s all about the postseason in Maryland and in the ACC, and below we’ll take a look to see what we should expect from Maryland this season.
